Imagine...

A world beneath the waves where towering forests of kelp sway with every tide. Sunlight filters through ribbons of golden fronds, creating a living underwater forest teeming with life.

Hidden amongst the root-like holdfasts, bristle worms, brittle stars, crabs, shrimps and tiny snails find shelter. Sea anemones and delicate bryozoans cling to the rocks, filtering food from the passing water, while sea slugs, isopods and amphipods graze amongst the algae.

Around them, shoals of juvenile pollack, wrasse, gobies and blennies weave through the kelp, using the forest as a nursery before venturing into open water. Cuttlefish hunt between the fronds, rays glide across the seabed below, and seals patrol the edges of the forest in search of their next meal.

Above the surface, these underwater forests quietly protect our coastline. They absorb the energy of powerful winter storms, helping to reduce erosion and shelter the shore. As they grow, they capture carbon from the atmosphere, cycle nutrients through the ecosystem and help support healthier, more resilient seas.

Now imagine this wasn't just Hastings.

Imagine if every coastal town around Britain had the knowledge, the science and the community needed to restore its own underwater forests. A network of Community Marine Education & Restoration Centres, each collecting data, inspiring local people and helping nature recover—creating healthier seas around our entire coastline.

That's our vision.

By joining us, you're not simply making a donation. You're helping restore an extraordinary underwater world, supporting the research, education and restoration needed to give nature the opportunity to recover.

Together, we can help bring the forest back.
