Ghost gear can entangle or suffocate fish, sharks, whales, dolphins, sea turtles, seals and seabirds. Farming fish is not the answer. It means fish are confined and packed together in captivity, parasitic lice are rife, and pollution is a major concern. Further, many farmed fish are fed wild-caught fish, contributing to the overfishing of wild stocks. The answer is simply, to stop eating sea life."
